I hope this works. I've finally figured out how the Blog site works (I think). I've been thinking about all of L's friends on the Blogspot. He truly enjoyed reading and always seemed to feel he had friends on the site. He was amusing at times, trying at others, but loved all the time. My Lynn passed away on Jan. 6, 2005 at 8:04 p.m. I miss him. Please continue to have a good spot in your heart for him. He was my light here on earth.

Deported Wagdy Ghoneim's Previous Troubles with the Law

Muslims facing intolerance in Canada: ". . .in early January, Egyptian Shaykh Wagdy Ghoneim was arrested while trying to enter Canada, with a valid visitor's visa, from the US. During his 24-hour ordeal, Shaykh Ghoneim, who suffers from hypertension and heart problems, was humiliatingly handcuffed, strip searched, interrogated and jailed without an opportunity to get legal counsel on suspicion of affiliation with terrorist groups. Immigration officials also confiscated his blood pressure pills and sinus medication.

Only a few hours before his arrest, Shaykh Ghoneim, who had just finished an American speaking tour sponsored by the Muslim Arab Youth Association (MAYA), was issued a visitor's visa at the Canadian consular office in Detroit, Michigan."

Last week he'd denied ever being in Canada. . .

In January 1998, an Egyptian imam of the same age and with a name spelled almost identically -- Wagdy Ghoniem -- was arrested while trying to cross from Detroit to Canada. He was detained overnight and released, and an attorney for the cleric later told the news media that a Canadian immigration employee mistakenly suspected him of having links to terrorist groups.

It was not clear Monday whether the Anaheim mosque leader was the same man detained in Canada. Ghoneim's attorney said he knew nothing of the previous incident and said his client would not have been allowed to remain in the United States if he had any links to terrorism.

My God. CAIR's work must be getting Mr. Whitehead a nervous breakdown. CAIR Southern California closely works with all local law enforcement agencies, from the top and down. If it makes Airhead, I mean Whitehead, feel better, have him contact the FBI Assistant Director, the L.A. County Sheriff, the Orange County Sheriff, the various Chiefs of police for various Los Angeles and Orange county area cities, and almost every congressional office and they will tell him how they all closely and regularly work with CAIR on various levels.

American Muslims are an integral part of America and will not be intimidated from fully participating in the civic and political affairs of their country, even if it upsets bigots. As more Muslims get organized and politically empowered, they will build stronger coalitions with like-minded Americans who are concerned about the true values of America. I am sure that this will make Airhead angrier, but again, who cares about Airhead. Right?

As for the DHS and ICE, there is only one ICE in Los Angeles, he can call their director and ask if this meeting ever happened. I am just worried that Airhead will have a heart attack once he finds out that the meeting actually happened. LOL He is so funny.
